Exploring AI in Graphic Design

Overview:
I completed a six-week AI Aided Graphic Design course exploring how emerging AI tools can support the creative workflow. The course focused on using AI to enhance ideation, branding, research and content creation while maintaining strong design thinking and brand consistency. Throughout the programme, there was a strong emphasis on understanding AI as a creative support tool rather than a replacement for designers, with practical applications across concept development, automation and creative experimentation.

Tools explored:
Adobe Firefly (image generation & prototyping)
ChatGPT (research, brainstorming & ideation)
Runway (video generation)
Automation tools
Brand identity development

Course Project 1:
Meowly – AI Brand Concept
I used ChatGPT to generate and refine brand ideas before exploring logo concepts, colour palettes and typography. Adobe Firefly was then used to create promotional imagery, with the final concept brought together into a brand presentation.

Course Project 2:
BrightMind – Awareness Campaign
Starting with the supplied brief, I quickly developed a logo and visual identity using branding techniques learnt earlier in the course. I then used ChatGPT to explore creative directions before designing a social campaign centred around an interactive personality quiz. All layouts were created in InDesign and Photoshop, with imagery generated using Adobe Firefly.
